Hi All, here is the first "Fact on Friday" for you. This one is regarding blood sugar levels. One of the main reasons you get the munchies mid-morning, the afternoon or late in the evening is due to your blood sugar levels (see below). Depending on your nutritional habits these levels may spike and dip quite dramatically making you feel super hunger. Controlling this is one method to reduce hunger as well as assisting in reducing excess calorie intake (chart below). Try to consume foods that have a low glycaemic index (GI) value. Most food labels in the UK now show what the GI is of a food - however here is a table below to help you. Have a great weekend
